Information for Higher Repetition Learners

If you're a higher repetition learner, the SaySomethingin Method is going to be more challenging and time-consuming for you.

Here's what we recommend you do:
  1. Use the pause button as MUCH as you need to.  Make sure you're saying something (right or not!) in the gap.

  2. Repeat the lessons in batches of 5 - so instead of getting stuck on one lesson and repeating it for ever (or until you feel like giving up entirely), run through 5 lessons in a row, and then go back to the first - so you'll be going 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and then 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 again - until 1 feels noticeable easier.  At that point, start doing 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and so on.

  3. DON'T beat yourself up when you feel other people are going faster than you are.  That doesn't matter.  It's probably EASIER for them.  The only thing that matters is that you keep going on YOUR journey, to reach YOUR rewards.

  4. When you need to take a break, don't go back and start at the beginning again.  Just carry on with the last batch you were doing - so if you were cycling through 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, after a break you go back to 6 and start from there.  It will feel tougher at first - you'll feel as though you've lost ground - and you'll be tempted to go further back.  But once you've done one cycle through the batch, you'll be back at 80% or 90% of where you were before.  If you give in to the temptation of going further back after a break, you can end up adding YEARS of unnecessary extra effort to your learning journey.

  5. Finally, please come and say hello on the forum.  The journey is tougher for higher repetition learners, and that means getting encouragement and support is more important.  Far more people succeed with SSiW (whether they're higher repetition learners or not) when they get involved with the community, and reap the support that their fellow learners have for them... :-)
