Do Something in Welsh

Postby Iestyn » Thu Sep 02, 2010 9:03 pm

A new resource for people who want to go somewhere where Welsh happens. It's very very under developed at the moment, but if anyone has suggestions for places where you are guaranteed Welsh (B&Bs, Ironmongers, Restaurants, Children's play centres, whatever) then let me know here. I'm tending towards things for learners and tourists at the moment, but any services, especially outside the Welsh speaking heartlands are welcome, and, sadly, even pubs and B&Bs in the Welsh speaking areas, where Welsh speakers can be hard to find sometimes.

Anyway, have a look at http://www.SaySomethinginWelsh.com/dosomething

Sori! Have edited the post to say "especially outside" - Any places that offer a service in Welsh, anywhere in the world, so that we know where we can go, and not have to start the conversation with a "Do you speak Welsh?".

It's always easier (as in more likely) to find Welsh speaking practice in the "Fro", so from a learner's perspective, places outside the Fro are marginally more important. But from a perspectice of everyone knowing where they can always get Welsh service etc, lets have a (sorry the) comprehensive list here!

:wow: :wow: You take that back! Or I'll, I'll . . . do something (yn Saesneg) unthreatening and ineffective, I expect.

Iestyn, should people post suggestions here? Mine: the nice Welsh book-and-music shop in Aberteifi (don't know the name; it's in the middle of the high street).

That's a really good shop. Much bigger than it looks on the picture.
